Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing great! This is part 1 of a 10 part blog series I will be releasing for the next 10 days. These blogs with explore our past and take a look at everything the project has done so far, check out what we are up to now, as well as talk about the future vision for the project. It has been 2 years since we first launched this project! So crazy! When we first launched Ethershift (our previous name) in May 2018, we didn’t really know what we were doing. We literally rented an Airbnb, and myself and 4 other people worked shifts around the clock, 24/7, manually processing any orders that came in. Looking back, we did it this way for too long lol. I really didn’t know what I wanted this project to be yet, but I knew if I just got it out into the world and started working on it, eventually we could do some really cool things. Over time, the project parted ways with the 4 other people that were there from the start, but I’m really grateful for them, and everyone else who has helped out the project in any way the last 2 years!
When we first started we had launched as a centralized project. It didn’t take long for us to realize we needed to move towards a fully open source decentralized model, so we began working towards that in 2019. The last 18 months have really defined what we are trying to accomplish as a project. Here are just a handful of the things we have accomplished in the last 18 months;
*Rebranded from Ethershift to Switch and made the transition from a centralized service to an open source decentralized service
*ESH token listed on IDEX, Mercatox, CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko, Coinlib, Delta, Blockfolio, and more
*Distributed over $20,000 via fees airdrops, contests, & ESH airdrops
*Introduced a gift card section allowing anyone to buy gift cards with crypto
*Launched SwitchDex, and over 30 white label portals such as McAfeeDex
*Received press from outlets such as Forbes, Business Insider, Coin Telegraph, Bitcoin.com, and more!
*Filmed footage for the “Exiled” documentary that will be coming out later this year. Check out the trailer here.
*Fully automated Switch with 1 click buying and instant processing
*Launched our first Switch white label exchange McAfeeSwap
*Announced GHOST, the privacy coin founded by John McAfee
*And a whole lot more
Most of 2020 we have been focused on building some new features and applications for our products that we will discuss further in future blogs such as a new smart contract for our DEX network, smart contract gambling games, a DAO that allows our token holders to propose and vote on decisions regarding the project, development of automated white label infrastructure for our instant swap and DEX networks, and more! We have had a slight set back recently with our main developer getting sick and having to leave the project, but we plan to get all of these features and more out in the coming months.
